1. Don't Run Too Many Programs at the Once
The more programs you run at the same time, the more precious processing power it takes. Your computer only has a limited amount of processing power. Close programs that you aren’t using and only open it when you need it! Otherwise, running multiple programs at the same time will slow down your computer.
2. Delete Any Programs or Applications You Don't Use
PC Manufacturers in Dell and HP often have preinstalled programs that you didn’t download or want on your computer . If you decide not to use these programs, keeping these programs on your computer take up unwanted processing power.
To uninstall these programs, take the following steps.
Click the Start menu button.
Click the Settings button.
Click the Apps button.
Scroll down and select the Program or Application you wish to delete.
Click the Uninstall button.
3. Control How Many Programs Start Up
When you first turn off on your computer, does it usually take awhile Home Screen to load? If that’s the case, then you might have programs that start every time you turn on your PC. You can keep these programs from starting by doing the following steps.
Press the following keys at the same time to open your Task Manager – CTRL, ALT, DEL
Find the Startup Tab
Check to Startup Impact. This ranges between Low, Medium and High.
Right click an unnecessary program and select the Disable button.
4. Install an Anti-Virus Protection Program
Viruses and malware slow down your computer because it takes your computer’s processor power to complete it’s function.
